Courtesy of growing up on university campuses while my parents were in graduate school, my childhood made me think of universities as home. Speaking three languages, living in three countries, five cities, and weekly museum visits, I jumped with glee when thinking of practicing Painting and Drawing at university. Eight year old Andreea, and only child at the time, often acted as multiple characters during conversations with herself, envisioning a lifetime of painting landscapes. For me, the visual arts have been, and continue to be, the only medium to successfully storytell across over language and cultural barriers.

 

Andreea at age 14-17 fell in love with photography, which spun into a love for cinematography. Watching a movie a day in middle and high school with my younger sister,  more about filmmaking by teaching my sister about mise-en-scène, film history and theory, storyboarding, and directing. I would come home exhausted from AP and Honors courses, working as a tutor, leading track and field, volleyball, and basketball teams, and go to bed energized from discussing filmmaking.
